Ephemera is a term used for a wide variety of everyday documents which were mostly intended for one-time or short-time use.

Ephemera includes postcards, maps, posters, tickets, menus, programs, cards and photographs..........among other items.

Items of ephemera found in my bookshop often lock in an extremely accurate record of the time gone by--------they record fashion, hairstyles, modes of transportation, etc., etc.

Because these items were saved (for whatever reason-----intentional or accidental) they now have value; they originally may have been free or throw-away items.
